Free Crochet Pattern | The Squishy Home Blanket

The Squishy Home Blanket

Today I’m releasing the Squishy Home Blanket for FREE! Who doesn’t love a free crochet pattern? It’s big, easy, and squishy. You don’t need any other qualities in a blanket.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve always struggled with blankets not covering from head to toe. Either my upper body gets cold or my toes get cold. I designed this blanket as a solution for that exact problem!

Out of all the blankets I’ve made in the past, I’ve never made one for myself. I saw this gorgeous mauve color (called burnt rose) and knew I wanted to make something with it. It’s okay to have some selfish makes every now and then. After all, I ended up making the ultimate crochet blanket.

This blanket is HUGE! It’s one of a kind. You don’t often find blanket patterns this big with chunky yarn, let alone a free crochet pattern! So, let’s get to the details.

Free Crochet Pattern

This crochet pattern uses Bernat Blanket Extra (weight 7 yarn). Since the yarn is so large, this blanket is a very fast make.

I used the seed stitch (alternating between single crochets and double crochets) throughout the pattern. It’s very repetitive and easy to get the hang of. I enjoy it because of the gorgeous texture it creates without any extensive stitches.

I’ve said it before and I’m gonna say it again. This blanket is so big! The final size measurements for the extra large throw comes out to be 6.5’x5.5. It comfortably covers your entire body. No more cold toes!

If you don’t want an extra large blanket, that’s okay too. This pattern is easily adjustable. You just have to increase or decrease your beginning chain in sets of 2. I also included sizing for a standard throw blanket for ease.

The best part about this pattern is that it’s free! However, if you would like to support my business, you can find the paid version of this pattern on my website (click here for the link) or in my Etsy shop (click here for the link).

Okay, let’s get started on this free crochet pattern!
